Mary Magdalene

April 27, 2026 Rβš–M

I know a person whom sometimes feels like she’s Mary Magdelene in a past life or comes through as gone through having experiences close enough to Mary, to feel like Mary Magdalene. For sure this may come across as her being crazy, or she could be telling the truth.  Maybe she can relate to this person or just have a lot in common, which would make sense on why she feels that way about herself.

But who was Mary Magdelene? What I was told by the church was that she was a prostitute.
That’s what the priest said in the church service. I must believe the priest. Technically, he’s High Authority, educated, and supposedly God speaks through him, so he must be telling the truth, so why bother picking up a book, or books for that is, and get the truth myself ? Why bother, this is so much easier , just listen to the priest and that’ll be my truth 100%

Nope, things have changed.

It’s funny how the Catholic church’s beliefs and teachings, followers from this religion, the teachings told by our teachers, priests and church services, to make us believe that Mary Magdalene was a prostitute, when the Bible never identified Mary Magdalene as one.

The misconception: In 591 Pope Gregory the Great linked Mary Magdalene with other women to create Mary Magdalene negative reputation, role, and her story.

The scriptures never listed Mary Magdalene’s profession as being a sex worker. Mary Magdalene(The disciple), Mary of Bethany(The friend), the unnamed “sinful woman” (unknown foot washer) and the woman caught in adultery to be stoned (unknown), their stories were combined, to have me and many others to believe that Mary Magdalene was a prostitute. One whom is still sleeping, will never know that that truth.

I mean, has anyone ever met Mary Magdalene in person, talk to her, ask her questions, or even get to know them personally, and see if the things that were said about them were even true? Regardless, what was said from whomever, it sure didn’t help people to think wrong about a person, without actually knowing the facts about them. I don’t know all the facts. I’m just here with the basics. Anyone can further their own research if they want to.

Mary Magdalene was a follower from whom Jesus casted out seven demons out from her(Luke 8:2),  was a prominent disciple present at the crucification and one of the first Witnesses of the Resurrection. Mary Magdalene throughout the gospel was said to be a devoted follower who helped support Jesus’ ministry (the real holy Yeshua).

In modern biblical studies and even official Church Corrections: such as the vaticans 1969 revision: have worked to separate these stories and restore Mary Magdalene’s reputation as a faithful disciple rather than a reformed sinner

In religious and literary contacts she is viewed as a symbol of Grace and Divine Mercy, Her feast day is July 22nd. Her tomb is located in the Crypt of the Basilica of St maximin La Sainte Baume found in Providence France. Her tomb was discovered in 1279, by Charles II of Salerno

It dawned to me that if in 1969 the Vatican officially corrected a historical misunderstanding that lasted for nearly 1,400 years,  why was I told and many others in the 1980`s that Mary Magdalene was a prostitute still? Did the schools not get the memo? Did the Vaticans keep this information for themselves for a few years and continue the same teaching pattern, until people start waking up, for me to be misinformed? In today’s world , you can get this information online, since recently some have already been waking up to the truth, even though the truth has been being told since many years ago.

And in regards to my friend,, Maybe it’s not Mary Magdalene who my friend was feeling as being. Maybe she was feeling like the unknown adulterer female that Jesus rescued from being stoned. Depending who she is and what situations of events she experienced in this lifetime, may have shaped her thoughts and feelings to think that way of herself.

I don’t know, but it’s something to think about πŸ§‘β€πŸ’»
